Google Workspace (formally known as GSuite) is Google's attempt to create a long lasting eco-system, taking on Microsoft Office the defending champ.
Microsoft Office has been used by most businesses using Windows, since it's release.
Google Workspace uses an entirely cloud format, i.e. it is run in a web browser instead of an independent application (like Microsoft Office) this allows people to access their files from anywhere in the world easily and quickly, while Microsoft Office does offer a similar version of the cloud format, it is not as well designed as Workspace.
For example Google Docs has a compact format specifically designed to fit the web browser whereas Word Online is almost identical to the desktop app.
The identical design can be seen as a pro to those who have used word for many years, but the design does not work well for the web browser with many features missing and space wasted with areas such as the address bar and bookmarks.
Microsoft's Excel is the lead in spreadsheets, Excel beats Sheets because of the tables formatting, Excel allows you to manipulate the table columns as well as the standard columns.
Compared to Sheets where i am yet to find the correct way to format tables, you can kind of create tables with alternating colours, yet this does not provide the same use as an actual table.
Meetings have two options for Microsoft with Skype and Teams, whereas Google has Meet.
These three work a little differently: Skype is a messaging service that allows you call, this however does not have any scheduling features; Teams are scheduled calls designed for large scale meetings,
Meet has both scheduled calls and code call. Google Meet is the best option for people joining calls because of its ease of useable on the web with dedicated windows inside most of the Google Workspace.
In overall I would recommend using Google Workspace because of it's flexibility and design focusing on ease of use instead of maintaining the old design.
